Pluses;

1) For being thirtyish she is in really good shape.
2) The seriously messed up adult in her life is a woman, her mom.
3) The two men in her life, her father and her boyfriend, are both strong, stable, supportive individuals.
4) She gets unintentionally pregnant and doesn’t get an abortion.
5) Her efforts to survive are at least loosely based on reality.
