Gierek (2022) is a biopic about the controversial Polish leader who modernized Poland with loans from the West (France and USA) in the 1970's. This is a great film, of high production value, and particularly relevant given the state of the world. It's the result of 30 years of research and a window into the other half of the Cold War—the side seldom seen by Westerners.
