I think federal law enforcement only has valid jurisdiction on federal land. But that's a philosophical, not a legal, opinion. Sheriffs are charged with the responsibility of maintaining law and order in their counties according to the standards of the inhabitants of that county. Sheriffs have the power to deputize citizens at will to this end. That's a legal opinion. Sending feds in is an egregious overstepping of lawful authority. That's a personal opinion. Theses cities receive federal dollars, some of it for law enforcement.. That’s not opinion. That’s fact. The Feds have every right to intervene especially if it’s disrupting commerce. Federal highways traverse every major city in the USA. Government has "rights" now, huh. BWAAAAHAHAAAHAHAHAAAAA!!! Refuse to pay your taxes and find out for yourself. Easy to do. Let me know how things work out. Did you know that the government had the “right “ and did effect integration in public schools ? Yeah, no scchitt. You ain’t got fuggin clue. People have rights. Govt has powers granted to it by the people.

President Trump said he may send more Federal Law Enforcement to NY, Chicago, Baltimore, Philly, etc.
What do ya think? Good Idea or a Bad Idea?
I personally think he should make very, very public offers to the Mayors and the Governors of these Blue Hell Holes, but only send in the help if they request it. If they want their liberal citizens to suffer at the hands of the "Mob", so be it. How will people like it if it's Biden sending in federal troops?

Federal force for federal property. And that includes Interstate Highways that would never have been built without federal tax dollars. Keep them open by whatever means is necessary. Federal law enforcement must not allow itself to be attacked in this role. A large part of sending federal law enforcement must be to demonstrate laws will be enforced and violence will be met with violence. Make sure an over abundance of officers are on hand to handle the fight. Have facilities on hand to detain those arrested and to transport them to temporary federal incarceration off site.
Let the rest rot. Maybe elections will be taken more seriously and not just a feel good experience.

I read all these War of Northern Aggression posts. How it was about States rights....that argument doesn't need hashed here. Ironic how so many want federal intervention, based on their thought, on this issue.
I'm a believer in states rights, local rule, individual rights and responsibilities. These are local issues, with national connotations.
Somebody mentioned, "as long as their hearts are in the right place" or similar.
That just flat doesn't work. Don't think it, don't try it. Never! We have written laws to avoid the issue of where "the right place" is.
Do you want Feds to have power over your town based on what they feel like?
Ask Randy Weaver, or David Koresh. Well, David never got to talk, did he?
The answer isn't easy, But I feel it's local. Dam shame for people to have to suffer this, i dont like it. Especially, the truly good people there. Libbs, or conservatives. But it's their towns, their politicians. Their issue to solve.

What happened to relieving the one in charge if psychologically unfit? No one in their right mind would let a city burn.

EE is right. The locals had to have their chance to succeed or fail. They did almost nothing, so step in and be the "Law and Order" President. Do it legal and get it done. These are the domestic enemies that all military members took an oath to defend against. I'm not sure what oath the marshal service and other federal officers take but I am sure it is similar in some aspects. As it is, all but the stupidest people now know who will sit back and support anarchists destroying their lives and property and who supports the law and order.
