Sorry guys. I get a kick out of the magazine / clip thing. I do the same thing with stocks and grips on the S&W forum and 45 long Colt on the Colt forum. The rifle is sighted in and been killing stuff for over 20yrs now, and we've never had a malfunction. Just misplaced the 243 mag and found a 6mm mag in the pile. thanks for the help. Oh, and around my house this is a magazine. Charlie

yeah, its a clip.
and stocks are grips
and Colt SAA can be had in 45 Long Colt.
The only firearm that uses a "clip" is the Garand. They use an 8 round En Block Clip that is preloaded and inserted into the action from above. Upon the last round being fired, the "clip is ejected along with the last round. The "clip" is what makes the ping sound upon ejection./

There are some revolvers chambered in calibers with rimless cases that use moon or half moon clips.

Mag should work as most of the SA cartridges use the same mags. 6mm Remington is not a short action. Since when? Ditto. My 725 SA started life as a .244, it now wears a 700 .260 barrel that screwed right on perfectly if u don’t mind the stamping buried in the channel. I was looking for a 7/08, but real happy with the 260. A 308 or 243 would have also worked.

I believe the M14 can also be used with a stripper clip.
