Never said that. Pay attention whippersnapper. I stock my freezer with venison and that's mostly what we eat for red meat at home. Never said we don't go out to eat.

I just finished my weekly Sunday night NY strip. Not the best I've ever cooked, far from even mediocre. The last 16# loin I sliced & trimmed came off a very well cared for cow. The one I'll be knawing on for the next 4 or 5 weeks might have been a little older, or didn't eat as good. But it is better than anything I wish to pay for out somewhere.

When out, wife's favorite is Longhorn. I think they serve good cuts of beef, but not crazy about their rub. I used to like Logans & there's still one in Lex. But they have gone downhill IMO.

When eating steak out, I usually draw he line at a $25 - $30 steak. The next step up is usually double that price & many times it's hard to tell the difference.

Local Longhorn sucks.
You can get a table anytime you want.
Texas Roadhouse is about 1 mile away, suckers wait an hour plus there.

Never ate at the fancy ones.
I'm so tight and practicle I'd be Amish if I could grow a good beard,
And I ain't gonna drop $150 for supper with Momma when I can buy two ribeye primals
for the same dough.

Slice them babies by hand, vac-seal, and feed the whole famdamly 10
good steak dinners.

7mmbuster.
Thanks for the tip.
Would make nice short drive for us some evening.

No chain measures up to the flame cooked backyard grill. No comparison.

Try a bourbon marinade if you want a great steak

Don't measure any ingredients, just mix, marinate at least overnite and grill.

Lots of Whiskey
Jigger of Soy sauce
Jigger of Wosterchire
Handful of Brown Sugar
Squirt of Dijon Mustard
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Onion Powder
Plus Whatevever you want

That will just ruin a decent cut and grade of meat.

Awww, Hell yeah!

Little place, mom and pop type in Amarillo, Texas. Can’t recall the name but I can drive right to it.

Ruth Fertel’s place does have a good steak of any type. Best to make reservations if patronizing the one in our area.

The Chop House, owned by the T.J. Moran family out of Baton Rouge, is hard to beat also.

Longhorn gets the nod here. Steaks are good, but my wife goes gaga over their chocolate stampede. We order one and share it, and even that can be a struggle.

If you want go international I would give La Casa del Caballo in Saltillo Mexico my vote. It is a little unnerving when they ask for your cell phone when a VIP customer comes in. Could be cops or cartel.
