Allowing slaves into the US..
.
The US in the last 40 years:
Socialism for big corporations and military industrial complex
&
Rugged individualism for the individual.

1991, collapse of the USSR. Globalisation linked up the worlds elite and without each other to fight for the first time in human history they turned on the next best thing, their own middle class. it didnt happen right away. There was still 20 years of easy money to be made. We set up business in the old iron curtain countries, made bank, easy mortgages, good stock returns, we even sold manufacture off and invented a bunch of worthless fluff jobs to keep people employed. Then in the late 2000's the money started to run out, Russia started taking its territories back, china started outmaniouvering us and we realised our culture of bloated, drug addicted, whining, suburbanite dog shampooers and tree pyschologists could no longer be supported.

We started crossing the Rubicon the day George Herbert Walker Bush the nth took the oath. Klinton bolted on an Evinrude. Then, GW just put on one of those V-12 Merlin race engines and crashed on the wrong shore.

1,000 years from now, we (the USA, as we know it) will likely be in history books, being studied by some other mega-power country, probably learning from our fatal mistakes.
Despite our current downfalls, this is still the greatest country in the world today. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else...
But it will not last forever. No civilization ever has. And we won't, either.
read sir jhon glubb...fate of empires....breakdown of great powers and how they all have common traits before their downfall....happens to every country.....bob

LBJ’s “Great Society” programs
Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965
Opening trade with China (creating a monster)
9/11- Seemed to make it “ok” to limit lots of freedom’s in the name of safety
Those are the 4 biggies..
We have Bush & Cheney to thank for Homeland Security......a bloated, unneeded government agency.

1913.
I'm glad some people realize it. I understand the sentiment, but an argument can be made that April 8, 1865 was a watershed date...or the day Lincoln was elected. Or you can go all the way back to The Whiskey Rebellion. I guess it just depends on whether you think it's government action or social degeneracy allowing the decay to continue. I choose the latter.

I never cease to be amazed that there are people today who think only landowners should be able to vote.
There are some also, who even long for the days of monarchy.....

I'm changing my vote... from 1913 to whenever it was when the first jew was allowed to set foot here. At that point, our doom was sealed.

Only landowners should vote. If you do not own a piece of this nation, you get no say in how it is run, because you have no real skin in the game. What is so hard about owning a 1/4 acre of America, that any working person could not afford it? For damn sure, if you are receiving any kind of, welfare, disability, subsidies, tax breaks, or other treasure from the public pot, you do not vote.

The actual answer is when Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden.
Despite those that believe in "evolution", everything in human history since then has been a downward spiral - "devolution" if you will.
The USA is just one more in a long series of failing (devolving) empires... the ink wasn't even dry on the Constitution when the process had begun.

The USA is just one more in a long series of failing (devolving) empires... the ink wasn't even dry on the Constitution when the process had begun. According to that logic, it is impossible that the USA ever existed. I think you need to do better than that kind of reasoning. The way we perceive the world and define it in the West is over 2500 years old. Things are cyclical, and your religious beliefs should remain figurative.

This may sound simple, but when people switched from shopping at Sears to shopping at Walmart. The names of the department store and discount store can be changed. Politics be dammed, pocketbook economics is reality.
