Since when are you not allowed to hike off a trail? This has to be in someplace like CA. I think it was Utah or Arizona. Has something to do with too many people trampling fragile habitat. That was a Fed, not state.

there is one trail dogs are allowed. It starts at the welcome center and runs parallel along the road to the maintenance building. Its a horrible trail. All the state parks in Ohio and Kentucky allows dogs on the trails - not sure about TN.
