Now that he's got 22 months of south Florida under his belt, Deflave is an expert on seafood. Not even close. But I know an idiot when I see it, and you've yet to atone.

Was fishing for Cod in Mass back in the late 80's, our Captain was Dave Rider. A salty old bastard, he has quite a gig. He sold what we paid to catch.
Anyway, we hooked a Monkfish and he was wound tight. "That's $7/pound. They call it Poor Man's Lobstah. Be a pretty Poor man would think that's lobstah."
He sure could put you on Cod. 6 of us caught 2300 pound of rough dressed in two days. Nasty old puck would bitch and beller if you stopped fishing to get a drink or eat a sandwich.
At the time i worked farms for $30 a day, and the farmers treated us decent. I paid him $100 a day to work dam near as hard, and to be bitched at.
As for lobster? I prefer almost any other seafood. Rubbery and bland isn't good food.

You've either had bad Lobster or someone who doesn't know how to cook or both.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

Definitely this. Has a nice chewy texture that's closer to lobster. I like ling too, but the texture is much flakier.

The little woman makes "Poor Man's Lobster" with Haddock fillets. A little butter, S&P and a sprinkle of Old Bay wrapped in foil and baked .
I've tried Lobster...I've tried to like it.... I don't care for it. But that haddock.....That's good eats. Especially when it's smothered in stewed tomatoes.
Don't let the name fool Ya!

for us it was either cod loins or the back fillet off a northern pike. boiled in heavily salted water. Still make it from time to time.
