Does the benefit outweigh the risk? Period.

It's an individual question. Answer it for yourself. Pretty simple.

CDC, NIH, WHO, Fauci and other Public Health organizations look at the big picture to mitigate the spread and impact of infectious disease; most often through herd immunity. Mass vaccinations are part of that, but not always as effective. Fauci is a cocky SOB, always has been. His moving of the goal posts of what constitutes herd immunity have moved from 65% to upwards of 85%. He said he started out low because the public couldn't handle an 80-85% number when COVID came on strong last spring. Obviously science and medicine is a constantly changing dynamic, but he lost a lot of people when he made that statement. Eroding the public trust is the worst thing a public health official can do...especially if a really deadly one comes along. Remember the boy who cried wolf.
