Figured with the sliders opened and the height to the ceiling trusses, I’d be g2g.

You disagree?

You'll need good ventilation or your risk of elevated lead in your blood goes way up.

The sliders open plus a huge fan or two behind the fitting line blowing downrange would work for some shooting, but I'd still be worried shooting a lot.

The blood test is cheap, do it a few months in a row after you start shooting and see if the lead levels in your blood go up.

Copy that...Big blowers are cheap.

Roger that...Beaver will now include a ventilation requirement into the range.

I figured since I’ve been around lead paint for 1/2 my life, I’d be immune to such things. Guessing, not.

No shît !

I could be very cool, if I think the build out correctly and pay attention to some details.

Lighting package I’m going with will give low light options, that can mimic dusk, near dark, and almost pitch black.

Building some barricades and a few low walls. 96’x120’ ft looks like a large space, empty...But, run and gun will whittle this space down quickly. I can’t go a full 360* unless I spent a small fortune on backstops.

My thinking is line of fire will be front facing left - center - right with 15 yards of safe zone behind the starting position.

Drawing it up is frustrating....Wanting to have the ability to change the course with some ease for different shoots.

Any ideas ?

🦫

Just build as many 180* bays as possible. If it’s only one, that’s plenty.

The ability to draw tarps like window blinds can take an area to no-light in seconds.

There is no reason to try and achieve multiple levels of lighting via hardwire. There are a bajillion options that are portable/temporary.

Yes, as well as forced air being purged at the rear of the shooting lanes.

I hate indoor ranges. I have avoided them at all costs.

OK, just like an Oregonian.

Hates indoor ranges so he goes out and buys a place he can build one! confused

I hate all things peanut. Maybe I go down to Georgia and buy me a peanut ranch? smirk

Honestly Beav. If you're inviting Kingston, please post a schedule of when he's there so the rest of can avoid those dates. Fugger's likely to bring a friend like the one he posts pics of all the time. eek

Good luck with it, and I think goalie (?) has a good idea. Get a blood test to establish a baseline level of lead. That way you can test periodically and make sure your ventilation system is adequate.

Have fun with it all!

Or....................................get some horses. Probably cheaper to feed them critters now than to feed a few pistols..

I understand your perspective, but that would be an awesome indoor arena!!

But since you’re going to screw it up, put in some urban combat handgun courses.

The original owner back in 1999 had this placed dialed in for horse riding. There are horse trails all over the property that run for almost 2 miles with all the switchbacks.

We bought the place for the seclusion. There is a second large shop that sits across from riding arena that holds tractor, equipment and toys.

The pistol range will be built for enjoyment and stress shooting, depending on what you feel like doing. CQB with AR’s and pistols is part of the plan.

I’m fully retiring from painting in 3 months. After the 2021 hunting season. I’m spending my time building the range.

I’m looking forward to being off high ladder work.

A lot of the country is seeing dipshíttery in politics in one form or another...Getting to the point where we’ll all be moving to the prairies of Wyoming as our last stand against Liberals.

Georgia has some awesome whitetail deer hunting...It’s a pretty cool place, if you’re not in or near Atlanta.

Our property is on a mountain top behind 2 gates. We are about 1 mile from a paved road and 8 miles from a Hwy. We’re surrounded by mature timber of Doug Fir, Cedar, and Nobles. Below is farm land.

Neighbors ? What’s a neighbor? There is 4 houses in our neck of the woods. Haven’t seen or heard any of them, except their gun fire. With one neighbor running a full auto on Saturday and Sunday. Now, that dude has some ammo. He’s popping off a can of ammo a day...Laffin

Heaven in Oregon....If there is such a thang.
