Why does it take a month to find out what killed these people? I could see taking your good old time on a random pile of bones thats been out there for years but If I was in that area I would want to know what killed three seeming healthy people and a dog all at one time in short order. Exactly.

Giant chipmunks maybe..... They would leave giant chipmunk tracks. Even a lowly local constable would have seen them tracks. And besides that, the search dogs would have hauled ass after them and tracked them chippies down. Any dog worth it's salt could not resist going after a giant chipmunk. I mean, look at how wound up they get over regular 'munks. Giant flying squirrels! Hmmm ... but they would have left marks on the bodies.

We know very little about these toxins and their ability to be aerosolized — how they are made airborne. Even though these neurotoxins are known to be some of the deadliest on the planet (hence Very Fast Death Factor), it wasn’t until 2019 up in Nantucket, Massachusetts, that anyone decided to test the air around algal blooms for this stuff. Low and behold, there it was. Aerosolized toxic algae is an interesting theory. I know that high temps (over 92F) and low humidity are the types of conditions that can cause farm chemicals like 2,4,D to aerosolize and drift. Anyone know what the humidity levels were the afternoon the day they died?

Anyone know what the humidity levels were the afternoon the day they died? Odds are on a 100F+ day like the day they went hiking it was low, like the past three days in Mariposa where they lived. Was kinda high there today, but was only 92F for a high. RH was 23%. Two days before that it was down to 16% and even that was probably a little influenced by the weather we had pass through Cali yesterday. Not sure about that part of Cali, it's inland but not as far inland as we are. We regularly see single digit RH levels.

A combination of heat stroke and drinking water with toxic algae might have been enough to do them in. All 3 and the dog ? I don't think so. Me either Guessing a murder suicide. Me also, or maybe suicide pact.
