Colossians 3:17 (New King James Version) "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Neither. Dad was a veteran who bought the house on the GI Bill, but it wasn't worth all he had to kill to get it.
Momma? Well, she's been through Hell since junior went to jail and she told all the neighbors he was off in the war fightin' for freedom.

Why did DAC spend the summertime cuttin' up logs for the winter if they had a coal-burning stove - no natural gas? Did they have a firewood bidness on the side?
Also, if the old man worked on the neighbor's cars and sold tires for a dollar or two, cash, & they presumably had enough money to buy coal for the coal-burning stove, why didn't they purchase a tube of silicone & seal those 50 holes in the old tin roof?
Because they were dumb fugk southern hicks.

Painting the porch ceiling sky blue is supposed to keep chimney sweeps from building nest there. I grew up burning firewood in a coal burning stove. It was supplemental to the coal. My grandparents would buy a load of coal every few years but usually burned wood. Rick
A lot of people get confused about that. They're not related, with the exception of their own 6 degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon (aka "Bacon's Law"). That confusion is also often attributed to the fact that David Alan Coe sang "The Ride" and Edgar Alan Poe sang "The Raven" It's a simple mistake a lot of people make.

Did DAC ever hair-lip anyone noteworthy other than the Pope?

LOL ! “The Ride” is one of my favorite David Allen Coe tunes:
