GM is gonna spend a BILLION DOLLARS in mexico for electric cars and the UAW is mad. Wonder if the UAW still endorses Biden they will never learn supporting the commie democrats i guess they get what they supported They will ALWAYS support democrats as long as the DNC pumps back side money into the UAW. Any complaints are purely grandstand for the membership. I’m not sure who taught who this way of doing business, politicians or the unions. Osky

As far as I'm concerned the whole automotive industry sucks. Needing SAE and metric tools to work on an American made vehicle really pisses me off.

Seemed like every speech from Lesco was “good paying union jobs.” Code speak.

Another reason the UAW pizzes me off. I was once a UAW member in the late sixties through the early 70's before & after my military service. Even back around 1972 some of the old timers I worked with were making comments like "This union ain't what it used to be". I know a lot of their own members don't approve of the way it's run and I can't understand some of the stuff they do and some of the people they endorse. It's not just the UAW either; a lot of our unions seem to be run by commie socialists. WTF? Labor unions are the basis of the Marxist System. The former USSR was the United Socialist Soviet Republic. A Soviet is a Labor Union, which is the most basic political subdivision in the "Soviet" system, and hence why it's in the name.

The government imposes regulations and taxes that make it more costly or prohibitive to manufacture, produce or create things in this country. The unions protect non-productive workers and make it even more cost prohibitive to do business in this country. Then they both blame industry for moving out of the country while the consumers want inexpensive stuff. Cant have it both ways. Though that has been the case very often I know of a business that took a big chunk of their manufacturing south of the border and it was when Trump was in office. He made it far easier to stay here than any president in my lifetime. They left over stockholder greed.

If Ford is your prize bull you're fugking the American consumer with, you're going to have a lot of retarded 3-legged calves. Unless you like sending profits to Japan? Back around 2010 had a GMC Sierra I was going to trade on a new one. Every Sierra on the lot was made in Mexico. Bought a Silverado, instead. Most of my Chevy trucks have been made in Indiana. One back in the late 60s, was made in Canada. None from Mexico, so far? Ain't much made here that doesn't have lots of foreign parts these days.
Once saw a small Pontiac SUV on the lot (2007?). Window sticker said engine/transmission made in USA, car assembled in China.
Had two Dodge trucks, don't want another one. Although I know a few guys that loved Tundras for awhile, but now drive RAMs, since they get much better fuel mileage than their Tundras did. Several of those new RAMs were hecho en Mexico.
Fords? Most of my farmer kin have been driving Ford trucks since the 60s. They kept on buying them, despite the rust and other issues thru the 70s and 80s. They all live in the northern parts of PA, where road salt is tough on steel. Doubt aluminum will be much better, as it corrodes.
Buy whatcha wanta buy. Doesn't bother me. Ram makes the engines in Mexico, the truck itself is made in Michigan.

The very first newer club cab Dodges were built in Mexico for years. Might still be. Guess what. They were no cheaper than the Chevy or Ford that were built in the USA at the time. Edk

I read these threads for amusement.
There might be something worthwhile come out of them, maybe, except, guys can't have a factual conversation about. stuff like this.
Their self worth is so tied to a stupid ass pickup, that to be honest about their brand, would be like cutting off their balls.
Ford was building stuff in Mexico when I worked at the local dealer. 1987! Oh, they also benefited from bailouts!
ChuckKy mentions Toyota charging the same as GM. Yet we hear of unions and legacy costs adding around $3k to a GM. What gives there?
Gotta love the Toyota American Plant arguments.
Chrysler/Benz/Fiat? Are they American?
GM getting a pass, since this thread is their Ox Goring.
Right now there is Chevy, Dodge and Ford in our driveway. Used to be a Subaru. Only POS I've ever owned was a T-bird. By a 100k i had the heads done and a tranny in it. A Hyundai was close but it left quick.
Ain't nobody building something like a car in the US. Period. Hell, not even all parts of chainsaws! That's a huge issue and a dam shame. Something that needs fixed.
But not by a bunch of dimwits, busy beating up on some brand. Just to feel better about the pile of imported parts in their drivway.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and a soviet has different meanings in Russian history. mike r
