I hear you on not wanting to tear it off your rifle and send it in. But I probably would myself. I had similar situation years back. I sucked it up and sent the product back despite my desire to use it on that hunt I bought it for. I wasnt happy at the time but it worked out.

I bleed mine and full them with helium so they are lighter. Don't know why the factory doesn't do this

I fill mine with water, like tractor tires, makes them more stable on rough terrain
