Hey Roger—some years ago a biologist noticed that the wolves in Algonquin Park in Northeastern Ontario were considerably smaller than the wolves elsewhere in Ontario. He ran some DNA test and it turns out that those wolves (referred to locally as brush wolves) were almost an exact replica of what they were trying to produce in North Carolina Red Wolf project.

Small pointy head and short legs...I am calling coyote. A mature wolf has a head the size of a basketball.
