Thanks! I'm leaning towards 110-115 grain bullets.

110 grain Accubonds, AA2200, and a SR primer of your choice does a wonderful job on Whitetails and pigs.

Loading the 120 Barnes for it, groups less than inch. If you had told me an old lever action Savage could shoot that well years ago, I would have called BS. I’m using H-4350 powder.

Thanks, now just finding them....I believe the 2200 is easy enough found, at least locally a lot of the Accurate line has been available, the Accubonds, not so much.

My first rifle I owned, the 7X57 was a dandy on everything I uses it on and that was with 140 grain low velocity factory core locks. First deer I shot separated the heart into two seperate pieces right down the middle! That's when I new I was one hell of a hunter and very dangerous to boot. Nothing out there has been safe to this very day......Lol

I have always believed it to be shot placement highly over cartridge choice so for me makes no difference. Now days I take my 223 a fair amount

I`m partial to .25 cal. My first B.G. rifle was my Dads` hand-me-down Savage Mod. 20 in 250-3000. I missed my first ever shot-at-buck with it. I killed my first buck this season, with the same rifle.
I have to say my favorite rifle is my 700 SA chambered in 250-3000 AI. Killed my last three deer this season with it.

Both Browning X-Bolts I have in 270win have killed piles of deer. I don't have any good reason to use anything else.

Kimber 6 creed with 108s is my go to. Though recently a pacnor barreled Kimber 7x57 with 162s is gaining trust.

That's like asking which of your kids do you like best and do you prefer sons over daughters. Like potato chips you can't have just one. The top of the list is a pre64 M70 7MM carbine all the custom bolt guns but especially the single shots. Favorite calibers are the 25's especially the Roberts and the 7MM's. I'm glad I don't have to choose. Next seasons favorite will be a 250 Savage built on a shortened Mauser action.

You certainly blessed to own a Marlin 1894 with pistol grip. Not many made in the early 2000's.

Depends on where I’m hunting.

Either a Remington 700 Classic in .264 Win Mag with a 125 gr Partition

Or a Remington Custom Shop Model 7 Manlicherr Stocked 7-08 with a 140 gr Ballistic Tip.

Those are very nice rifles. A classic for deer hunting.

I'd love to have one in 35Remington.

This fall it will be a custom 250 Savage built on a shortened Mauser action and 100 TTSX.

That said I really like my .358W R700 stubby that JES rebored from a .243. So much so that I have a Schützen (Mannlicher style) full length stock on order from Richards Microfit, and plan on having it all set up and dialed in - in time for next deer season.

The caliber is a thumper, and at Eastern woods ranges is awesome. DRT IME. And the short length (18 1/2" barrel) is really handy in the thick woods. Figure a fixed 2 1/2x or 1x4 or somesuch for a scope. It has a 3x9 on it now which is clunky, that's got to change.

I saw where good-guy regular on here 260Rem had a special Ruger 77, RSI in .358W, of which there were only a handful ever made.. I figure that would be about the holy grail for my kind of deer and black bear hunting
