Still have a restaurant like that here local. Couple as a matter of fact been around since the 60's. This one Pops use to grab a bite at when he was a milkman for Crystal Dairy back in the late 60's. Said he could get a plate of winnies and rice covered in brown sauce with eggs for 50¢. Same place 50+ years later owned by the grandkids now. South of skidrow on the other side of the tracks. Usually had some sort of canned or frozen veggie on the side too. Never knew it was Chinese food, just thought of it as po' folks food.

Convenience store nachos or chili cheese dogs to start with.
Good enough to risk a DUI for. Sheetz version comes to mind. 7-11’s fixings’ bar coleslaw is dubious at best. This. Also soy and wasabi almonds. Dammit they get me every time

Chit, being married to an Asian wife, I get all kinds of, uhh, different food. Does make some kinda fried pork that is damn good; especially when liquired up a bit. Hell, at least she feeds me!

To be fair restaurant bills itself as American Chinese. I was a spoiled brat as a kid. I got tortillas with my rice n' beans.
