Because they actually did heroic stuff that day, not cowardly bullshit like they did in Uvalde. The fault is not with people calling cowards cowards, it’s with the cowards.

You miss my point, the whole country had changed including the police. This is the new normal. Our Air Force just canceled a drag fashion show at an air base. The next one won’t get canceled I bet. But those guys were heroes in 2001. And they knew at some point they weren’t coming home and still went up.

People pay big money hunting bull elephants, big bears, African lions hoping for a chance to stand up to the danger of the danger.

What could be more invigorating and challenging than going up against the most dangerous game and all for a good reason.

There is a reason many rock climb and jump off cliffs under a big kite. They have no reason to do so other than the thrill of the challenge

There is a reason more than money many are mercenaries for Zelensky in Ukraine.

What could be more thrilling and exhilarating and nerve tingling than going up against an armed killer. That would be the pentultimate challenge and all for a good excuse.

It would be for many, worth dying for.

The ultimate big game.

Well, like I said in 1966 when Charles Whitman started shooting people from the tower in Austin, people got deer rifles and started shooting back. It undoubtedly saved lives. The cops didn’t try to stop them and the couldn’t have if they had tried. The cops and the people cooperated to stop the threat.

Most of what you are describing is mental illness. What did you do for a living? Nobody knows what anyone is going to do until it happens to them. Lots of cops never shoot anyone some hardly clear leather. Tackleburys rarely get hired or promoted. Ex military types are usually solid if they can get hired. I had a cop friend tell me half the rookies were never in a fight in their lives before getting hired.

Yep. He was dodging bullets from a quarter mile and more away.

Here, as the news said, brave and vested cops were getting kids out of (uninvolved) rooms.

Why were none going in?

The only thing you thrive on is alcohol.
Sad you can't book a human hunt to prove you're a hero.
