Africa has 60% of the worlds cultivatable land with only a fraction of it being used. Africa could be the world's leader in ag products, but when you have children running governments, the superpowers exploiting them, and a workforce best described as lazy there ain't much hope the trend will reverse itself anytime soon.

What will be entertaining to watch unfold is for a couple of billion Africans suddenly deciding they want cars and electricity. So much for curbing global green house gas emissions. I suppose the northern hemisphere can tell the southern hemisphere to pound sand.

Here is an example of what has happened to Africa....Zimbabwe to be exact. When they ran the white man out, they gave the land back to the blacks. That was the end of modern farming and the economy it supported. Now its all subsistence gardens, and government handouts.

This area use to be known as the bread basket of Africa. Corn, sugar cane, tobacco, beef, pretty much everything. Gone.

Here is a small example of what's left. The rectangles you see are old fields, from those days of plenty. Zoom in closer and see how the bush is taking it back over. Everything that was left, is in ruins. Reminders of what a great place it must of been, are crumbling everywhere......huge silos, old manufacturing plants, plantations, train rails.....all destroyed. Nobody working. Just sitting around their huts (the walls of the huts are made from the bricks of the silos, they tore down), waiting on the next handout....and making babies.

I saw this first hand....it was explained to me by veterans of the bush war......the "losers" of that war.

When I was a kid we were told that it was amazing that the world's total popular was getting ready to reach four billion. At that time, Africa's total population was under three-hundred million.

There might be 4 billion Chinese in Africa at that time. They are going to kill of the Negro race .

Unintended consequences. Modern medicine keeps native population alive. Small pox, cholera, polio etc.
with cure and prevention of these keep folks alive and reproducing. Not long before food becomes a big problem.

True enough. We use technology (agriculture, medicine, etc) to keep increasing carrying capacity. Eventually the machine breaks and all of that artificial increase vanishes overnight. Malthus can only be denied just so long .. catch up time is coming. Hope I'm dead first 'cause it's going to be a kind of ugly our species has never seen on a worldwide scale.

The western world created this by providing food and medicine now they can house them.
This will destroy western civilization as we know it and it's already began here and abroad

I've been saying since the eighty's (college) that every dollar and every ounce of food we send over there needs to be tied to birth control by law.
