Grandson Logan nailed his first deer this morning! About 60-70 yds spined her! .223 Rem. He was happy! 😁 (I stuck her down low)

Great seeing the younger generations enjoying the noble sport. Congratulations!

Outstanding! Always great to see young folks get involved!
KayWoodie - what is the significance of the sprig of greenery? I saw similar on the buck you posted with your Mauser a few days ago & was curious if that was a tradition.

Der Letzte Bissen. The last bite. Or the last meat. An offering to the animal to start him on his journey. A way to honor an animal taken ethically and your appreciation of the animal. I know it sounds hokey to some. But it’s a big deal many places. I think it instills a bit more to the hunter than just shooting an animal. Least this is what it means to me.

Great day for the boy!
.223…to hear some here, he’s lucky it’s not halfway to the Canadian border by now.

Not hokey at all - if I may adopt this I’d like to. My 9 year old is just getting started hunting and this is the message that will remind not only her but myself as well about properly honoring a life. Thanks for sharing! Pints
