Here's the thing . . . . . . .the 20 holdouts are my kind of representatives, the other 200 republicans are mostly sell out rino's. I won't say that. There are new representatives on the republican side who just want to show up and do their job. We (my House district) got a new one to replace the democRAT we got rid of. I don't want to see him get caught up in this fiasco of having to pick a side on his first day before he has a chance to know who his real friends are. More than anything I want to see UNITY. Unity. A word that virtually NO republican has thought about since Ronald Reagan. I in fact blame the republicans mostly because of some very powerful republicans for failing to get unity. The worst of them all is Mitch McConnell. It appears that McC[/b[b]]arthy has agreed that if in the future there are 5 republicans who want him gone, he will step down. I'm all for giving McCarthy 90 (my suggestion only) days to get his act together and then the republicans in the House can hold their vote on McCarthy. I get why other republicans are afraid of where he is going to take the House. I GET IT !! His ties to Mitch McConnell are an anchor on his legacy. Mitch McConnell is Americans own worst enemy. He's a traitor and it's time the House told Mitch to sit down and shut up ! But, this junior high school bickering has to stop. No one can beat McCarthy TODAY. My bet is no one can beat McCarthy TOMMORROW. But, in 90 days the House can put their heads together and if they have someone who wants the job and if the majority thinks the new candidate will do a better job, then they can vote out McCarthy and vote in the new person. I know Jordan has been nominated but he is resisting. Stop wasting time on Jordan. The liberal press is having a field day with this dustup. I'm sure the democRATs are laughing their unified a$$es off. The democRATs could nominate Charles Manson to the speaker position and they would get him. Why ?? Because the democRATs have UNITY. This issue needs to end tomorrow. It looks like McCarthy has the majority. It's time to move ahead and put his California a$$ on the line. He either sinks or he swims. He either tells Mitch to sit down and shut up or he's gone. He's got 30 days, 60 days or maybe even 90 days to figure it out. Tomorrow on the first vote this should be settled !! It's time the republicans played like a team. A concept that appears to be foreign to them. It's a good thing they are not playing high school football. They would be perpetual losers. kwg This is completely UNTRUE. McCarthy has done no such thing. McCarthy offered a rule change from Pelosi’s 50 members to 5 members required to FILE A MOTION to Remove The Speaker. FILING A MOTION is only the first step. Then the motion goes to a floor vote, there is NO Automatic STEPPING DOWN. Pelosi changed the Rule to File a Motion from(1) to (50), McCarthy wants to change it from (1) to (5). There can be NO UNITY when the Majority of The Party supports The Party First and ignores America and Americans. Mitch has stated that the #1 Priority of The Republican Party is Fund Ukraine, are you good with that as Top Priority, if so, then you are on your way to helping achieve UNITY. f U C K ukraine and the republicans who support this bullchit. Honestly, I'm in the camp of let it all burn. We are there anyway. Not sure why anyone here is thinking the house speaker will change anything. I’m with ya, but showing support for America and not the Swamp by opposing McCarthy is at least good theater. Youre not wrong

Would you consider Trump a Clapping Seal, now that he has doubled down and says to vote McCarthy? Trump has been pulling some real bonehead stunts recently that aren't doing his credibility any good, from endorsing Dr. Oz to those stupid trading cards. I wouldn't be surprised if the polls look very different by the time we get close to the primaries. I'm afraid you're right, Barak, and good to see you posting again.

Yep. How did men sticking their cocks in other men's butts become a core conservative American value deserving of Republican support? Pretty disgusting development. Just shows where this nation is at that any republican would consider pandering to those sick minded individuals

In most OECD countries, you have a multitude of parties.. 6-10 different parties that need to actually work together, and excluding the fringe parties.
There is normally 3-5% Communists on the Left in each country, and 3-5% of Facists on the the Right in each country. And they usually get no power.. because the NORMAL population dont want to work or be associated with them..
Here you have the MAGA Facists, making demands on the larger Republican Party, holding them hostage.
Two party system is a cancer on the US..
The US in the last 40 years:
Socialism for big corporations and military industrial complex
&
Rugged individualism for the individual.

Looks like it could wind up with one party giving the Speakership to the other. just to spite your so-called patriots... If some of the GOP don't show up or vote present, that would give the position to Jeffries. Or if some of the Dems don't show up or votes present, that would give the position to McCarthy. Wouldn't that be a laugh!

Two party system is a cancer on the US.. Typical take by someone who hates the Constitution, but hasn't bothered to learn about it. Hint: Read the Federalist papers.

UNITY! Baaaaa!! WHEN DO WE WANT IT? Baaaaa!! NOW! Baaaaa!! China Dream! Baaaaa!! All Power to the Democrats! Baaaaa!!
Perhaps Republicans and American citizens can unite around the following today. You, the American citizen, may add more ideas we can unite around. 1. Close the US border until we can develop a sane immigration plan. 2. Shut off the US Dollar printing presses. 3. Enact congressional service term limits. 4. Enact a Balance Budget Amendment. 5. Cut taxes. 6. Implement a realistic Energy Plan. 8. Post the American Flag, the 10 Commandments and the Pledge of Allegiance at the front of every Federal Building and public schools that receive federal funding.
Welp, that's an eight-hour day right there. Time to hit the Le Diplomate and Off the Record after a hard day's work. Cheers!

Trump caused a stir that needed to happen. He got the economy firing on six cylinders and would have made it even stronger had he gotten another term. Most forget that or were just too stupid to realize it. Trump was making America stronger.
Trump just did not grasp the depth of treachery of the swamp. He got the business part right but not the political part. He put good people in place to fix the economy but was a poor judge of who was smart for the political positions (and there are few to choose from).
Trump made some real bad choices on endorsements and that showed he is not a particular good judge of conservative minded people. It showed that his supporters were not going to vote for candidates just because he said so when they knew they sucked. McCarthy is a prime example. Barak is right, Trump has damaged himself in front of his MAGA supporters and some will look elsewhere.
I get the idea that three quarters of a loaf is better than no loaf, but the country is too far down the socialist path to have guys like McCarthy, McConnell and RINOS in power to play footsies with the sister demorats. We need fighters that are true to the cause and not political players out for their own power and wealth at the expense of the nation.
We got huge problems abroad, on our border, our debt, our work ethic, our education system and our attitude but our elected officials just don't care.

Honestly I couldn’t care less how long they’re deadlocked. They could spend the next two years without coming up with a winner for all that I’d care. I’d probably prefer it to whoever is eventually selected but we all know that someone will be selected sooner than later.
