The longest I have kept a vehicle is my current truck. '03 chevrolet 2500HD with a 6L gasser. I bought itin '05 with 50K on it. Just turned 250K. It is a beater, for sure, but I'll be keeping it as my budget will not allow for a new 3/4ton 4wd pickup.

21 years. 97 F150, drove it for work. 389000 when it left the yard. 3 sets of plugs and clean the EGR return in the intake twice. 1 alternator and 2 belts, brakes and tires etc. No engine work other than the EGR stuff. No transmission or diff issues. Sold it because the interior was deteriorating and needed another set of tires.
$1100.00, still see the mexican that bought it every so often. He drove it to Mexico and back! I was scared to leave the yard on it....

Bought a new '99 Silverado Z71. Sold it in 2020 with 280k miles. Rusty but mechanically excellent. Still drove like new. Never touched the 5.3 engine. Replaced front driver's side wheel bearing and fuel tank straps. Loved that truck.

My summer time farmer pickup is an '03 F350 with 180k miles.
My wife's Ford Explorer is a 2011 with 30k miles.
We've owned both vehicles for 11 years and I expect to get a few more out of each one.

I bought a 1979 Ford F-150 4WD pickup and kept it through 3 motors, 300 CI 6's, until around 2005 or thereabouts. It had sat for the last 5 or more years. I treated it pretty rough after the new wore off, using it on the farm.
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4WD that I used on my rural mail route until I got a right hand drive Jeep Cherokee. The Ranger has 196,000 miles on it, and I still drive it pretty regular, using it as my hunting truck and on the farm. I had to replace the transmission at about 130,000, but the 4.0 engine is still a good one.

2007 Tacoma, new to present. Currently at 232,000 miles and I've done next to nothing to it. I expect to leave it to one of the grandkids.

I usually only keep a rig 10 to 15 years. But they are ten to 20 years old when I buy them.
01 GMC 2500 HD 4x4. I have owned almost two years. 02 Honda Accord. I bought it a year ago. Momma's 05 Durango, we have owned it about six years. At 250K, it will be the first to be disposed of.

I had a piss yellow 1984 Nissan 720 King Cab 4x4 for 21 years. I drove it until 1990 and then my parents used it until my Mother passed in 2004. I got a good deal from the dealer in Manhattan, KS, 'cause nobody seemed to want a yellow truck and the dealer wanted it off the lot before January 1st 1984.
It was a good truck, wish that I could buy it new today for what I paid for it new in 12/83.
