17 years in my Dodge CTD. It gets used mainly for hunting/fishing/camping and has 90k miles on it. I’m not interested in a new one. My work truck is a 2018 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. Great truck and the gas is free so I mostly use it.

That would be my 1999 4WD F-150 that resides in Idaho. I bought it new when we lived in Kansas. It has 115k miles and runs like it did when new.

Both our pickups left the factory in 2000, and we bought both used in 2004. One is a Tacoma that had 44,000 on it, and now had 242,000. The other is an F350 that had 66,000 on it, and now has 172,000. Both are running great.

Good thing am old - I guess - seem to keep them a looonnng time, and gather old ones as well. Have owned the 67 Corvette for 53 years and the Dodge Ram 2500 4wd for 23 years - it is at 350k miles and sits a lot while waiting to go to work.

A few guys here have seen some of the other oldies and, sad to say, I had to start sending some elsewhere. Gone are the 1952 Mack LTL, the 55 year old Chev C80 fire truck, the 52 year old Chev C30 wrecker, and seven others. Still have a number of 50+ year old Chev trucks and a very nice 20 year old Chev 2500HD Duramax/Allsion originally owned by a rather well-known Campfire guy.

Call it fortunate.

What model is the '37? What sort of shape is it in these days?

Current rigs are one-owner, '89 S-10 and a '01 Excursion. Sold my '85 Chevy van a couple years ago.

We usually keep a pickup about 20 years, a car about 12 years.

Bought a 94 Chevy 2500 4x4 Silverado extended cab new. Sold it in 2016. I had bought my 2013 Tundra new and wasn't using it as much.

Finally gave my '98 Tacoma extended cab 4x4 to my oldest daughter this year feb '22. I bought it used though. They are still using it. Replaced it with a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road, a double cab.

Our cars don't stay with us as long. In 2017 we bought a Subaru and gave the 2004 Camry to my DIL. They finally sold it this year and got a 2023 Highlander.

I trade about every 5 years for mine and the wife's. Usually her's is a year newer than mine.
Been doing this for about 30 years. Get rid of them usually with 60K on the odometer, I find I get the most out of my trade-in with that mileage.
Right now she drives a 2018 GMC Terrain, I just got my new 2022 Lincoln Aviator .
I recently did sell my Summer car that I had kept the longest of any vehicle I've owned over the past 60 years. I was an 2003 BMW Z4, had it for 17 years, bought new and sold in 2020 with 77K miles, car looked new, sold in one day. I did go out and buy another summer fun car, this one was already 10 years old w/ 50K on it, but driving it only 5 months a year, it should be the last one. It's a 2010 Jaguar.
I think both the wife and I have bought our last vehicles, Her 2018 GMC has only 28K on it, and after 9 months my Aviator has 7K. At 78, I don't see a reason to buy a new one in 5 more years.

Most don't realize what great trucks those T100s are. I have a 97 4x4 5spd manual with 230,000 miles on it but I've only owned it for about 6 years.

I had 2 T-100’s. The second one, 1996 model, was the best truck I ever owned. Drove it till it died, and it died on the dealership lot. I traded it in 2009 on my Tacoma I have now.

It's on its 5th or 6th set (I lost count) of Bridgestone Duelers............

Bought a 1971 Camero in 1983, still have it. Odometer was broken at ~150k when I bought it which, judging by the interior, would have been about right. Stripped it to the frame in 1983 to clean the rust off and it's been somewhat babied since.

The longest regular use car was a 2000 Honda Civic. It was rusting pretty bad by 2018 and was at the point I was thinking of replacing it when the timing belt went. Had 275,000 miles on it. Was told afterward the belt should be replaced at 150k but considering how much salt is used on MN roads in the winter and how quickly cars rust out, that would have just meant extra cost for roughly the same miles.

The longest truck/SUV was a tie between a 2000 Chevy 3500 4x4 crew cab with 8' box and a 2002 GMC Yukon. I had the Chevy until 2018 when it got to the point the window lifts rusted out dropping the window all the way into the door. The body was rusting pretty bad and replacement panels and doors were difficult to find and in poor shape when found. The 350 CID engine had 225k miles on it and could have used some refreshing.

The Yukon was junked in the summer of 2020 when the brake line gave in to rust. As did the body. And the A/C. And the sun roof began to leak. A lot. The window lift on the driver's door rusted out like the Chevy though I was able to pull the glass up and wedge it into place. We got our use out of it though, had better than 200k miles on it.
