That entire team and coach need to be sent home to contemplate their sins.

Rapinoe was living on past glory. With the game at 0-0 after 90 minutes, the coach felt pressure to put her in. He would have been hounded mercilessly, had we lost 1-0 and supposed star Rapinoe not played.

Her play was mediocre at best. She took 4 corner kicks, these need to arrive at the goal about 8 feet off the ground. Megan's corners were 3 feet high at best. two of them arrived at the box on the ground. Pitiful.
He picked his 5 best players for the penalty kicks and once again Rapinoe showed that she was washed up. Her miss cost the US the game.

America played the best game of their last 4, and if not for outstanding play by the Swede goalie, we would have won 3-0 and the game would have had nothing to do with the inept Rapinoe.

And she loves the USA and guns. She’s teaching her boyfriend how to turkey hunt and fly fish. She’s a good rifle shot and a better pistol shot.

As much as I dislike MR and take pleasure in her failure to make that kick, I interpreted the "smile/smirk" as being rueful, not uncaring or satisfied.

In my time, if you played soccer you lost your lunch money on a regular basis. It's a girly sport...Only sports women should play are beach volleyball and tennis.. And the ONLy reasons soccer is gaining traction in this country is part of the plan to emasculate our young boys and of course the influx the great unwashed

You might be on to something. Rapinoe didn't play in the previous game. Rapinoe didn't play during the regular game vs Sweden, 90 minutes. The coach put her in only for overtime, which is 30 minutes. She did not play well. Her corner kicks were supposed to fly into the goal area, about 8 feet off the ground. Rapinoe's corner kicks were dribbling in on the ground. Her free kicks were even worse. I coach a little league soccer team and I have 12 year old kids who make better corner kicks than Rapinoe did..

She is 38, which is washed up for soccer. Four years ago she starred in the World Cup, but she was 34 then. Big difference.
She is hardly getting any playing time, and when she does play, she is clearly washed up. She knew that the coach wasn't going to play her in the next game.

Is she so narcissistic, that if she wasn't going to play next game, she figured the entire US team didn't deserve to play, so she missed the kick on purpose?
