Don't wanna spend an arm and a leg but I was wanting mine cleaned up and jeweled. Thanks
Stan Ware taught me to use a 1/4" Cratex rod (blue). I do them in the mill vise with a 1/4" R8 collet to hold the Cratex rod (wrapped with tape). The Cratex part number is Q046 XF. The 'XF' denoting extra fine.
If you have a drill press, you can make a couple of wooden v-blocks to hold the bolt in place and advance it manually. A stop for limiting the down travel is nice but the Cratex is pretty forgiving, provided you don't lean on it too hard. Just let it do the work. Lightly......
Hello all, Have any of you had problems with Mr. Baldwin? I sent a Bolt back in April 2023 and after he said he received it i have had no word and he does not answer my emails. I fear my bolt is gone along with the $160. i sent with it. After doing some research i have found out he does not do most of the work, he farms it out to other craftsmen. If i had known that up front i would not have enlisted his services.

Dave,
That is news to me.
Skip did all of my bolts personally and had them back to me pronto.
Sorry to hear of your plight….hope it gets resolved satisfactorily and you get your bolt back soon.
I bought a Ruger #1 from a guy on another forum in March. A NIB rifle in a fairly rare caliber. The seller sent tracking info and we watched and watched. I advised I was patient and we agreed to wait a bit longer. After three weeks tracking still showed it at his post office. It wasn't. He decided to send me a refund and pursue the claim process. His first attempt was rejected. He provided more info (like a copy of my cashed check). They said they needed more time. He waited, contacted, waited... Three weeks ago the rifle landed at my FFL. Tracking showed it as non-delivered. I sent the seller another check. My faith in the USPS was lost.
I just got mine back this past Tuesday, CZ550 bolt, extractor, and follower done in one week from day I mailed it to the day I received it back, wow, and looks great and he polished everything so it cycles so much smoother. going to send 2 more to him
