I bet at least a couple of Scandinavian companies made a pile of money on the 6 gun gun safes that are required as part of the Swedish law. Yes, but they'd make them to maximum spec size and a single locking lug on the door rather than dual as the swede's make 'em just for consistency sake. H7 wouldn't have let this happen.

I missed this thread the first time it was up, because I was in Alaska.
This is all sad to hear. I hunted in Norway in the late 1990's and was happily astonished at the number of shooters and shooting stores. In fact it was the easiest foreign country to travel to with firearms that I've ever visited. The two guys in customs took a brief look at the U.S. Customs form for my rifle and didn't even ask me to open the case. They just wished me "Good Hunting!" and that was that.

But Obama just signed into law the same thing here.

I don't own any hunting "weapons"... Only hunting rifles.. The subtle distinction of weaponversus firearm is something most non-native English speakers will miss. It their local politics, it's probably not a significant difference. I think observing this distinction is more important in the USA.

Didn't read all the threads, but if I was limited to 6 guns, I'd move. And if there was no other place to move, I'd fight.

Sweden dude, thats Sweden. Nope. Norway. Swedish committees award the Nobel prizes for physics and chemistry, physiology or medicine, and literature. These are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden. A Norwegian committee (composed of just 5 members appointed by the Norwegian parliament) decides on the Nobel Peace Prize. This is awarded in Oslo, Norway. So Sweden can hold its head considerably higher than Norway with its recent asinine decision to give Obama the Peace Price for accomplishing nothing. John

So, we got this new law passed last month. A hunter can choose 6 hunting weapons for his "arsenal". If he wants a 7th, the police will have to be informed and it will be "very difficult" to obtain, and most likely he would have to sell of one of his previous ones to get the 7th..
So,
what would you choose? An AK47 and several pounds of TNT.

I'm presuming that Norway is like all of the other nations in the world. These type of laws only apply to regular folks. Not to the wealthy "collectors".
