Have you read "River of Doubt?"
that was one part of TR's life I'd like to skip
Proudly representing oil companies, defense contractors, and firearms manufacturers since 1980. Because merchants of death need lawyers, too.

Meriwether Lewis. Tragically short life, but I would love to see see the plains and mountains as he did.

Winston Churchill....he did it all, and usually had a good cigar in his mouth while doing it. Excellent choice ! +1 , although I'd like to live his life and achieve his accomplishments without his struggle with depression -- "the black dog" as he called it. Not a perfect man, but the perfect man for the time. The man who saved Europe -- by Der Speigel, no less! John

Hey tex, hows the ankle doing? Any better? Well earlier the doc asked how bad the pain was on a scale of one to ten and I said 'seven'. It's maybe 6.5 at the moment. Thanks for asking. To further the thread-jack... Is "ten" options for the amount of pain you're in not give you enough choices; such that you have to add the ".5" to "6". As one that is "in the biz". Nothing annoys me more when asking pain level than "X.5/10" Really? Wait I take that back, someone saying "12/10" as their pain level, that annoys me more. Trying to put an objective number to subjective thing is bad enough. But I have yet to find a medical professional who can give me anything but a blank stare when I ask "Is that scale linear or logarithmic?" Back on topic: Benjamin Franklin! The guy had an insatiable curiosity and the means to explore it. I doubt he ever experienced boredom, especially during the mid 1770's. He did many things about which our society still revolves. He spent a lot of time at the Court of France. That must have been interesting in those days. I would miss smokeless powder, quality barrel steel, and high BC projectiles.
People who choose to brew up their own storms bitch loudest about the rain.

Believe you me Idaho Shooter, I think asking what the pain level is is ridiculous. We can pretty much tell what it is by the look on your face, body language and vital signs. But "Joint Commission" says we have to ask....so we ask. BTW: I think it's linear.
If anything I state appears to be medical advice, I am not a doctor; be sure to contact your family physician before making any changes in your medical regimine.
