I really don't think this was ever about Scott or anything he said. This appears very much to be about insecurity and a trumped up overblown excuse to take the opportunity on Christmas to espouse your Atheism and to disparage Christians.

Amen.

I guess no one has ever said that you like seeing kids die.

What would their religous belief have to do with it?

And, why would it be a relfection of others who share the same belief? (you honestly don't see your prejudice).

Why don't you just leave anyway? There's been enough threads posted with your quotes that give everybody a good enough idea of what your about.

You know, I didn't see this thread until just now, but posted on the other. Figured something was up.

It's Christmas, and even if you don't believe, it is a time for some good will. If not now, when?

I say bury this thing and the other thread as well.

I'm sure I'll get shredded. lol

On Christmas Day in 1944, in the Ardennes Forest, the Germans and Americans took a pause from the hostilities of the day, exchanging wishes to one another for a Merry Christmas. Some even exchanged small gifts.

If WWII was able to come to a stop, albeit a brief one, to embrace the true message of Christmas, why can't we do the same here?

Merry Christmas to all.

Was just saying to a friend (this morning) that Christmas Eve is surely one of the worst possible days to put Jesus on the cross again.

I hope I can be forgiven by those whom I offended by casting aspirations at Scott F - who by all accounts here - is a fine and upstanding man.

I hope this thread can now be put to sleep.

Please Teacher, I think you may have meant 'casting aspersions', Sir.

I'm still waiting for a link to the thread in question. You obviously want us all to make a judgement, so where is the offending post?

Most men truly do live lives of quiet desperation, as the old saying goes

My belief is that "quiet desperation" is a luxury afforded to those who ain't suffering "real desperation", as can be abundantly found in the Third World Hellholes of the world.

I mean even stuffy, reclusive ol' HD Thoreau, who coined the term while taking his extended vacation on Walden Pond, pretty much knew where his next meal was coming from, did not have to worry about a starving wife and kids, and lived in no apprehansion of murder at any time by drug cartels, outlaw mlitia, or other assorted cutthroats and bandits.

Furthermore Thoreau coined the term based upon the example of a farmer, heavily in debt, while failing to recognise the fact that the food surplus provided by such individuals even then allowed him to basically do jack for several months while sitting out in a shack in the woods.

Whats up with that anyway? He weren't an old man, had a quiet hut in the woods, yet NEVER wrote about buying some booze and having chicks over crazy

Mostly he talked smack about the Irish, so he's been on my hit list for a while now mad

I normally try and avoid these threads because nothing is ever resolved. But I'm making an exception in this case because I've read a lot of what BC posts and most of what Scott posts. Based on their posts, and the unassailable reputations of the folks who are four-square behind Scott as a person and a Christian, I'm going to add my vote of confidence in Scott as well. It may cause more harm than good, because it's me offering my support, but, I feel moved to speak up for Scott. I believe he's a good man and his word is his bond. Additionally, I've never read a post of his that I didn't believe was God's honest truth.
