We could drop the bore diameter to .375 or greater and you can shoot that Hepburn. Ed

I am working real hard carving a Hepburn out of a maple limb I found. Thinking I might pull a switch on my friend Blue just before he goes home. Shhhhhh, don't tell him.

Oh, yeah, he won't notice the difference between your woodwork and an original, 99% Hepburn. You're good, Scott. REAL good with your hands, but David Copperfield, you ain't! Ed

Drat! I have been thinking about bringing the mighty K-hornet this year and giving the gopher shoo a real try. I may change my mind. I would not want all the big bore guys to get their feelings hurt.

Tell me, Ed reckon my .220 varmint outfit'd be safe amid this gaggle o' renegades?
No ammo for it, unfortunately. Or maybe fortunately.

Ken, Only if someone brings a lot of hand cleaner and paper towels clean the "stickum" off of their hands first. I would love to assemble some ammo for that and shoot it. That is a work of art, Ken. Ed

I can come up with some IMR-7828 SSC. Its only the super short cut variety, but from what I know its the same burn-rate wise. My local guy has had a few jugs for a while now.
..he might even have the Viht.

I designed the cartridge with IMR-7828 and 50,000 lb/in in mind, but it appears that a few other slow powders might be better.
Had an 8-lb jug of Ramshot Magnum for it but gave it away intact, figuring that I'm now doomed to never load or shoot again.

Well I can certainly pick up a 1lb jug or two of that 7828SSC if it would help the cause....

Heck if there is a chance PW is going to be in the valley before August I'd pass it along to him. Perhaps we could get some rounds loaded before the get together then. Failing that I can bring the powder up when we meet up.

Well I can certainly pick up a 1lb jug or two of that 7828SSC if it would help the cause. Thanks, but don't bother. I'll never be able to load or shoot anything again. If I were, I'd lay-in a good supply of N570, ReLoDer 23 or 25, or Ramshot Magnum. Then I'd at least scare the pee outa some 'way-off pasture poodles and yodel dogs! But even on my dreamin'est days, I dasn't dream of such bliss.

Its your call Ken. If you want I am positive we can find a way to muster up some suitale loaded .220 Howell. I know of one active loader nearby you by who might be coerceable...
I am sure if you were inclined to try a spot of shooting that there would be no shortage of well intentioned help ready and willing to aid in any way needed.

I definitely do have some Reloader 25 on hand, that could be spared, since I'm not planning to load any 8mm mags anytime soon. I'm thinking a certain sub-MOA, bull barreled 5.56 AR would put a grin on Ken's face, if he's so inclined.

IF I go I'll bring my .22-6mm and a .375 H&H just to be a "small bore" fella for once.
