I shot 130 gr Speer SP in a 270 for decades, they maybe a little softer that some other bullets, but I would expect that for shooting Deer at woods ranges or a bit more will not be a major issue! I have a friend that shoots a 30-30 single shot and its his bullet of choice, and he hunts deer all over New England with it, one of the H+R handi rifles with a 1.5-5x Leupold on it! He has kill some pretty big Maine and NH bucks with it! Says its light short and little recoil and golf ball accurate!
