Bullets for the .30-30 have been so refined for so long that it's hard to find one that wouldn't work. Speer, Sierra, Corelokt, Winchester, etc all work pretty well.
This statement is very true! All I look for is who's is the most accurate, and go from there. And, to be honest, I use my .30-30 at ranges that accuracy is not a real consideration. It's just *me* to see which one is the most accurate.
My M94 just happens to like Hornady 170 FPs, but I don't feel that bullet has an inherent superiority to any other .30-30 bullet when it comes to terminal performance.
