Dennis, I kind of ran into this with the Jeep I just bought.
I was planning to order and was told that the factory may not accept the order at this time. That they, if turned down, have to reorder in Jan 2017, after Christmas break. I guess the workers get long time off and maybe orders are different than sitting on the lot. Don't know.
