I feel your pain! I am torn between a 7x57 & 280 for my second action. it will be built as a light(er) weight mountain rifle. Like a cross between the Winchester Featherweight & the old mauser pattern "B".
I agree about wanting to do something different. You cabn always run across left handed 06s & 270s.
