My brother has used a 7mm-08 on over 50 whitetails. He loves the caliber and has used nothing but regular remington core-lokts. He has had outstanding success. He used to use a 30-06 but he never takes it anymore. I've used the 25-06 a good bit on deer and between the two of them I'd choose the 7mm-08. I'd also have to agree that if the .270 were in the mix I might well choose it over the 7mm-08.
