NO WAY ! The Savage 99 is the BEST LEVERGUN EVER , the APEX of levergun design. Winchester & Marlin are wannabes , they tried 307s & 356s & 308MEs to try to reach the performance levels that the Savage had all along , and they failed miserably.

Leverguns with hammers are primitive weapons.
