I use a Ruger 77V 22-250 1-14 ROT to shoot whitetails for some neighbors that have landowner crop damage permits and began with a 53 grain Sierra coyote load. In the 24" barrel it was running at 3780 fps with IMR 4895. A couple shots splashed on ribs requiring a second shot.

I reduced the fps to 3400 with IMR3031 and lost some accuracy but shot a few more deer without any problems, then switched to 55grain Hornady SP at 3700 fps. Great bullet.
