I lived in NZ for a short while. Gun laws are stricter. But some things are really nice, people still pick you up when you hitchhike or break down. People are NICE. I have started up more conversations in Bars that have led to more invites to take me hunting and fishing then I can count on two hands. My buddy shot a red stag. Total cost, gas and a case of beer as a thank you.

Negatives, Gas and Beer is expensive and food is higher. Pluses, its a very clean country, and BEAUTIFUL!!!!
