We tried those in the jail and they failed miserably. Not only did they completely stop working often, but they routinely got ripped off clothing, data would disappear during transfer to disk, and when it did work, the image quality was extremely dependant on lighting.


I've never used one, I just googled "lapel camera". Heck, Target has GoPros on sale for $300. I'd strap one of those on before I bought a car camera. Or get a GPS type dash mount for your phone and point it at the driver's window and record off that. There's a thousand options better than a camera pointed away from the cop.
