An American calling an Aussie a Limey
Aussies are of limey origin as Australia was once an English penal colony. They were kicked off ships and told to survive or die. That's probably why Australians are such studly dudes. Besides that, Aussies have gorgeous women.
That WWI Battle of Gallipoli was a tragic tale of British hegemony of Australia. British generals sacrificed thousands of Aussie young men in a useless battle.
You read about that
senseless slaughter of Aussie young men, or you can
watch the film starring a young Mel Gibson. Either way, it'll leave you will ill feelings.
BTW, the Aussies put up quite a fight keeping the Japanese off of their land in the Battle of Coral Sea. The USA committed a lot of resources to that battle. The inside word is that Churchill told FDR that the Japanese had better not step foot on Australia. I don't know how true that is, but I wouldn't doubt it since Churchill was the brains of the Allies while FDR was a Stalin puppet.
