My problem is I recently got rid of the last 1-1/2 pounds of H4350 that I had. I gave up on using it anymore since it's simply not available anywhere, and it's all I've ever used for 30/06 loads for 25 years. I'm also switching from H4831 in my 270 to RL26. No more Hodgdon powders for me.

I bought the RL16 as a replacement for the H4350. I think the RL15 will work fine in the 338 but I was curious if anyone had experience with RL16. I believe it's supposed to be more temperate insensitive than RL15 (and RL17.)

Alliant compares it to 4350:

"The Reloder 16 burn rate is slightly faster than that of Reloder 17, well within the 4350 burn speed band. This makes it ideal for traditional hunting cartridges such as 30-06 Spring. and 270 Win., as well as 6.5mm target loads and tactical applications where temperature stability is required."
