Years ago I had a BLR long action in .30-06 with a straight stock. I wish I'd never sold it. From what I gather here, folks with short action BLRs seem to consider the long actions to be clunkers. Mine never struck me as such, but then again I've never had a short action BLR to compare it to.

I want another BLR. Maybe a short action in .308 or maybe another long action in .270. I'm not really interested in other caliber choices in either action length because I have bolt rifles in those calibers and lots of ammo and brass on hand for both.

Does anyone here own both? If so, how do you like them compared to each other and which one do you usually reach for?
