I have a .308 BLR 81, and a .358 BLR - really like the compact and ease of carry with both.
Elk hunting friend has a 7mm Mag that we have borrowed/loaned when a rifle/scope problem came up in the field.
Can't say that I liked it as well, it was functional, but just didn't feel as easy to carry - both in weight, and in length.
