It is a great mountain in a great place. Where you live you will be able to get some time at altitude. I watched a good vid on You Tube, Run Gum Presents Kilimanjaro. It shows the Umbwe Route on a very plush outing. Going to altitude w/ porters is not a bad thing. For me taking your time is the secret unless you like feeling as if you have a world class hangover. Have a great time, you deserve it.
