Last weekend I also took the plunge on a 9mm 1911 and bought the Colt Competition Gvt. The stainless one with the blue grip panels. I have it at the gunsmith to have an ambi safety but on as I'm southpaw and want that feature.
I also order to Chip McCormick Range Pro 10-round magazines for it as I read good reviews on them. Can't wait to get it back and see how it does.
