I tend to keep things simple across the board. I tend to carry the same gun in my town, in the woods, on vacation, in big cities, at IDPA matches, etc. It usually is a compact, and I carry two spares. Everything balances out nicely, and the total weight is within a couple ounces of something like a loaded Glock 17 or Glock 19, but the total round count is double the 19.
