I shoot 35 grains CFE-223 + 87 grain Speer Hot Core in my 1918-vintage Savage 1899 M.250-3000, tang sight. Groups an honest 1½ and sometimes a hair better. Load chrono'ed at 3000fps on the nose. I see no reason to push it any faster.
85 grain lead plain based bullet + 5 grains Bullseye is good for around an inch at 50 yards and is a plinker load extraordinaire. No idea of velocity but it ain't much!
