They "corrected" the safety on the 457.
I guess that depends on the definition of "corrected". The original safeties ( 452, etc) block the bolt so that the firing pin could not fall with the safety on, the 457 safety blocks the trigger rather than the firing pin. To me the 452 safety is more correct because it is a positive block.
I have never had an issue with the 452 safety - but then I have never had an issue with a firearm that has a tang safety, or a crossbolt safety, or a push-forward safety, or any of the other types.
