For going cheap, the Win M-70 Tupperware is a nicely proportioned stock, handles great. You may not be too proud of it, but it is about as good as you can get for the price. And you won't worry about scratching it. It's more like a pack mule than a race horse... I don't remember seeing anyone brushing a mule...
