It is a crazy amount to spend on an ATV and I don't have one. However, I've used a bunch of them and no pickup, jeep, or whatever, can cover the country as fast or as nice as a nice SxS or 4 wheeler. We have roads here that take all day in a pickup or suburban, etc. And take 25% of the time to get around in a buggy. Mud and snow that forces you to chain up your pickup no big deal in a atv. Snow drifts slap on the tracks. Which is more money I get it. But they have a use even if it does cost a bunch.

I switched from low end ATV to SXS back in 08[?]
Yamaha Rhino 660 under $9K new.
Hip started giving me trouble anytime I rode the ATV.
I use the Rhino near daily on my little 75 acre plot-o-Appalachian mtn land.
I ride it in places that I'd not want my street legal vehicles to go.
It's no wider than many of todays ATV's, has bucket seats and a steering wheel along with a bed for the dog or firewood.
