Not a picture. Just some ramblings on squirrels.

Was deer hunting the last few days and watched a jet black squirrel all day, which was a good thing as the deer sightings were few and far between. Have seen little clusters of black squirrels in other areas, but this is the first one Ive seen near home.
In sping I watched a very light phase gray squirrel, at first I thought it was white but in glassing it when it was near another one it was just very light gray. Wondered if it was age or just an unusual color phase. Sure stood out in the spring woods.
I wonder if the lack of squirrel hunters is leading to the color phases that stand out remaining in the gene pool.
